Frequently Asked Questions

  • I generally take bookings 3 to 9 months in advance on average. However, it never hurts to ask- inquire away for short-notice dates as I may have last-minute availability!

  • If your guest count is expected to be over 100, the reality is I likely will not be able to paint them all in one night! Hand-painting takes time, and I’d rather emphasize quality over quantity. After all, your guests showed up in their best - I want to do my best to capture their likeness and details :)

I offer several options for more guest portraits, including pre-ordering and post-wedding ordering paintings.

For larger guest counts - I also 100% support the idea of hiring an additional artist(s) to supplement how many paintings can be created in one night! Let me know if this interests you and I can assist you with some options!

  • That’s amazing! I am pleased to announce I am now offering a combination of live wedding painting (fine art acrylic painting of the newlywed/couple) AND watercolor guest illustrations in the same day for a jam-packed, memorable night of fun and artistry.

  • Yes, a signed contract is required for all bookings for live events, larger custom artwork artists, and murals/window art. These are handled via HoneyBook.

Your date is not considered secured until a contract is signed by both parties, and retainer/initial deposit are received.

  • For live painting, a retainer is required. This amount is typically 30% of your package total (although some exceptions may apply).

The remaining balance is due by 1 month prior to your event (some exceptions may apply) although payment can be made sooner if you are comfortable.

For larger custom artwork projects, windows, and murals, this may be 20%-50%; a fee schedule may apply. Depending on the project, full payment is expected upon completion or prior to delivery/receiving of the final artwork.

  • Yes I will travel to your venue for live painting, which may or may not be covered in my radius.

Your inquiry should include your event venue address for providing the most accurate quote possible, and will include all applicable fees required to travel to your venue. Your package or quote may also include:

    • An hourly minimum package (for watercolor guest portrait painting)

    • Certain locations requiring flying or multi-day travel may incur a flat rate fee.

    • Vendor meal (and assistant meal for guest portrait packages)

    • Cut-off time for live painting service

  • The type, size, complexity, number of paintings included in your order, or number of revisions will determine how long to expect your painting to be completed. Lead time will vary, but typically:

    • Fine art wedding painting and custom acrylic painting: minimum 4-8 weeks.

    • Pet portrait acrylic painting, pet ornaments: 1-3 weeks.

    • Watercolor portraits/illustrations: 3-7 days.

    • House portraits: 1-3 weeks.

  • For custom artwork and live painting, I currently accept Venmo, PayPal, SquareUp, and in some circumstances Zelle.

For local deliveries for custom artwork orders I can also accept cash and credit/debit card.

I do not accept cash or checks for live painting at this time.

  • Yes, I can ship artwork. Live painting packages will include shipping to you at no expense (although I prefer arranging an in-person pick-up/delivery!).

For all other custom artwork, depending on size/weight, shipping address, insurance/tracking, and standard/priority shipping, and rush orders, this added expense may be anywhere from $5 to $75+.

For local deliveries I offer porch pick-up or a meeting location in or near Brighton, MI at no additional expense.
